Hello Nicholas
Hope the conference was good. St Etienne sounds feasible to me for next year, tho' June might be a little difficult esp since I have a book deadline for the 1st July. However, I would very much like to attend and also to contribute a paper on the history of recumbents in the UK. Could you possibly add me to the circulation list for the call for papers?
thanks

Dear All,
I have just returned from the 18th Conference (in Tampere, Finland)
where it was agreed that the Cycle touring and Countryside Trust should
explore taking on the responsibility of underwriting the proceedings as
part of its remit. This has pushed me into being part of a more formally
constituted steering panel for the Conferences. In this role, I am keen
to encourage more people (particularly those from academic and
cycle-institution backgrounds) to think about contributing to future
conferences - the next will be in June 2008 at St Etienne. Many people
on this group will be aware of the ICCH (or ICHC!) but might not have
thought about it as appropriate to their interests, but the conference
is interested in any material that gives historical perspective to
cycling and studies of recent cycling activity would be welcome. A great
advantage of the conference is the Proceedings, which, since the 4th
conference, have been published in the USA in hard-back form with
illustrations, and have included the vast majority of papers presented.
I am intending that these will now be lodged in the British copyright
libraries as well as the Library of Congress. The conference has a
website, and I am forwarding this to Renate Franz, its organizer. I
would like ICCH announcements to be posted to this group if everyone is
happy to have them.
