Has anyone had experience in their institution of dealing with Flexi
PGCE students and the funding they are entitled to in the way of Student
Loans and Grants?
Flexi students are Part Time students in terms of their student status
with the University, however, we have been informed by Local Authorities
that a student that is studying an aggregate of over 6 weeks full time
per year can get full time student funding (loans and grants).
The nature of Flexi courses means that a student on the Primary course
can take up to 4 years to complete and Secondary can take up to 3 years.
Even though total teaching and placement time for each of these would
average out to over 6 weeks per year it may be the case that one year
may be more lightly weighted than another and therefore fall under the 6
week threshold to receive full time funding.
Has anyone been in the same situation and if so I would be grateful for
advice on how they recorded the intensity of study for each year of the
course and share any other issues that may have come to light in this
