List members might be interested in this short (4 minutes) film clip
from actor John Barrowman's (aka Captain Jack from Doctor Who) visit to
CERN where scientists really do explore the mysteries of space and time.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxl9pA3CudQ
The idea of the clip is really to advertise a series of podcasts about
CERN, each of which takes a different VIP on a tour and invites them to
ask questions. The podcasts can be found on iTunes or cernpodcast.com
and were paid for by a Science & Society Small Award from the Science
and Technology Facilities Council.
The aim with the John Barrowman material specifically is to reach a
young audience, but specifically in an arena outside of science,
hopefully going further than just a science-inclined public.
Hope you enjoy it,
Julia
