Hi Karen,
We recently had the Museum of London Group websites and some of our
microsites audited for usability and accessibility, alongside other
London Hub Museums.
We initially got quotes from the following organisations:
* Abilitynet
* Nomensa
* Amanda Cano
* User Focus
* Webcredible
* RNIB
Abilitynet and Amanda Cano provided the quotes at the lowest price with
all the usability and accessibility testing inclusive. The Hub Museums
and the Museum of London Group went with Amanda Cano as she quoted the
least amount for carrying out the audits and has also been involved with
websites such as Speaking Volumes that won the Jodi Awards for
accessibility in 2006.
We received some very clear reports on where we are failing with some
recommendations for improvements from Amanda. And since the audit, I
have gone back to her with questions and advice in regards to areas I
was unclear about and she has been very helpful.
I would recommend either Abilitynet or Amanda Cano as I have had
in-depth discussion with both and found them easy to work with. Nomensa
would also be good, however, they are very expensive, as are RNIB.
Unfortunately, Webcredible and User Focus did not even give me the time
of day since my budget was too small for them!
I hope this help.

Subject: Access audit
Hi
I'm thinking about commissioning an access audit for our site. Has
anyone used a freelancer or a company they would recommend?
