Reading a book by John McLaren called
Writing in Hope and Fear: literature as politics in postwar Australia,
I find him quoting Patrick White, responding to a 1962 review article on
him.
White to editor:
'I must also answer Bradley's accusation that there is no passion in Riders
in
the Chariot. I feel very little that is passionate in Australia.
Intellectual
passion seems to rise no higher than the snarling of a mongrel pack in the
correspondence columns of the fortnightlies and weeklies. As for physical
passion, I sense on the one hand sparrowfucks, and on the other the weekly
grind. Surely Voss and Laura were passionate individuals, or perhaps
D.Bradley
will not agree as they were not seen to copulate?'
When googling sparrowfucks just now all that came up was 'sparrowfucks und
squaremints' in German...one of which translated by machine as:
For you I in this Thread waited. Where were you so long? :)
>
>>>Naja if the Sparrowmints increased, becomes I the Whirlms probably to give
itself. How does one actually mark the Sparrowmint, if he squats above in
the
tree?
>>Spaten raus, tree touched lightly. Applies to all flying or climbing Tierchen.
>
>… was clear me that the play nix for me
Only? That was already clear me, when the play was announced. Although, in
the
play the animals have Sex!
>ist because I wanted random to ask whether one the Sparrowfucks and Squaremints
may kill not also with the spade.
You may even. Nix holds you from it.
>Ich remains then nevertheless with Rainbow Six. Is better like that.
I am strained, which you write in addition, I white not yet whether ichs is
to
get me.
Help, please, Max
