If the OHP has declared them fit with all the facts available then surely it
is up to HR to manage this or we end up in the never ending circle of
obtaining further reports from the GP's. I know of companies in cases such
as this that stop sick pay as the employee has been declared fit for work.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] GP's V OHP
Hello All,
some advice is needed please. A couple of our employees have been seen by
our OHP.
Employee A has been off sick(since April) with diabetes, a hand op and nose
bleeds. We (eventually) received a med report from GP. He saw our OHP last
week who recommended he RTW this week. Since then he has been back to his
GP who has signed him off sick for another couple of weeks.
Employee B sprained his ankle at beginning of July (WRA), came into see OHP,
who recommended 1-2 weeks off work. He has been to his GP since who has
signed him off sick for 4 weeks.
What do you tend to do in these situations? Do you write to the GP
explaining that they have been seen by our OHP and have been deemed fit to
RTW on whatever duties, do you take the advise of the OHP, who is more
qualified (in most cases anyway)than GP's?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Julie
