Hi,
I am currently looking at the way in which our CD-ROMS are accessed and used in our Library and wondered what other Libraries are doing. Firstly, CD-ROMS that accompany books - we currently put a message in the book stating that a CD is available and then sign out the CD when required. The CD's are held behind our Library counter and then we don't issue the CD (as this would take up a loan space on the users card) but sign them out on issue sheets for the length of the book. This seems a little fiddly to me and I would love to simplify it. Do any Libraries out there hold the CD in/with the book? If so how? Do any of you display them as a seperate collection with different barcode numbers on them so that they can be issued without the book?
Secondly for CD-ROMS that don't have accompanying materials - do any libraries issue them for loan (if the licence permits it) or just have them for use in the Library only? If so, how do you promote and display them?
Many thanks in advance
Beth
