Which is what one should be able to do with good IT.
When I look for something extra in my EMIS system, a good proportion
of the time it's already there.
The system isn't perfect, but it's soooooooooooo much better than
hospital, travel agent, banking or much other IT that I shudder at
the idea that companies that are used to that standard might get
involved in general practice.
There probably are some good systems (I bet Tesco's requires a degree
of competence) but the good ones are of course unobtrusive, both to
customers and most users.
