Dear All
The NRDC in conjunction with Niace are holding two conferences to
launch some new publications for SfL teachers, on the 17th September
(Sheffield) and the 24th September (London). Some of the publications
have come out of the Maths4Life project, while 5 are guides for
practitioners which grew out of the findings of the Effective Practice
Projects. One in particular is written for ESOL teachers wishing to
work on speaking at the level of discourse in ESOL classrooms :
"Turning Talk into Learning". This was directed by the same team who
wrote the ESOL Effective Practice Project and involved 5
teacher-researchers. It has so far received quite a lot of interest and
enthusiasm from ESOL teachers and trainers.
The conferences are free, and places are given on a first come first
served basis.
