Would one of you be able to post the following message onto the JISC Mail
sight?
We appear to have casued confusion, following the problem with the recent
ACR. Hopefully the message below will clear up some of the questions.
thanks
Hugh
Following the conflicting advice that you have been given, I thought it
would be a good idea to clarify the situation.
Issue 8 of the Attendance Confirmation Report, which you should have
received last week, had two problems.
Firstly, it displayed some students who should not have been on the report
- either you had already confirmed attendance and liability for the student
and their assessment had not changed, or you had marked them as a course or
fee mismatch and the LA/ ELB have not yet revised their assessment. Not all
students in these two scenarios were picked up on the report, however a
number were.
Secondly, where a student had been assessed with no fee contribution (the
LA/ ELB assessment shows £0 loan, £0 grant and £0 student contribution),
rather than the report displaying a "0", it displayed a "-". Therefore
where the report shows a "-", it should in fact show a "0".
You can action and return the report to SLC as normal, taking account that
the "-" should be a zero. Any students where a confirmation is not required
can be left blank and ignored. Any payments due to you will be made on the
Wednesday following the return of the report.
If you would prefer to wait for issue 9 of the report, which will just show
those student who SLC are genuinely looking for a confirmation for, then we
will issue that report in about three weeks. Issue 9 will have both of the
problems mentioned above resolved.
I would like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you and for
the conflicting information you have received over the last few days.
