Dear colleagues
I have just started a new JISC list called MATURE-LEARNING, for discussion
of older persons’ learning for leisure, health, or work. I expect this may
be of interest to some of you.
I have left a series of brief messages to start the list going. The
messages explain that the Institute of Education of London University is
starting a new one-term master’s level module on the topic, starting in
January 2008.
In connection with our wish to investigate the various related themes, I
hope very much that some of you will be interested and will add your
experiences and viewpoints in the new forum.
You will find my opening messages giving the rationale for thinking of
mature learning at all, the course overview, and then 5 further messages
each of which opens up a significant theme for discussion. Of course new
themes will be welcome.

see as an important part of learning and teaching in today’s world.
