I experimented with elgg (now eduspaces.net) last year when I group of
colleagues and I wanted to set up a 'community blog', i.e one where
you maintain your own blog but also contribute to a group's blog.
Elgg market to the educational market (especially HE) and at the time
it was quite flexible in terms of the types of files you could serve
from them compared to other 'free' blog software. However I found it
a little too arcane to use and since the update when elgg became
eduspaces, even more so. I've given up on that now, preferring
wordpress.
While we are on this topic, does anyone here successfully integrate a
blog and discussion fora from the same site? If so, what do you
combine?
