RCAHMS is a National Collection that compiles, maintains and promotes data
on the built environment of Scotland (see www.rcahms.gov.uk). RCAHMS is
looking for a keen and adaptable individual to join our small Information
Systems team as a GIS Developer.
The successful applicant will be solely responsible for the day-to-day
maintenance, operation and development of GIS web and non-web services in a
mapping driven organisation. They will provide support and basic training to
staff in the usage of ArcView 9.1 and other ESRI products. They will manage
the provision of GIS data using geodatabases and contribute to the GI
strategy. Knowledge of web technologies including ArcIMS, Java and web
services as well as general experience of ESRI products, including SDE would
be a distinct advantage.
Knowledge and experience of managing projects and programmes of work is
required, for which the post is responsible, and to ensure that standards
are maintained, milestones and targets are met and objectives achieved.
S/he must have a GIS/IT degree and/or equivalent experience. Training will
be given where required and previous post holder has been promoted so
knowledge transfer makes this a fantastic opportunity.
