Dear all,
I've been doing some editing on the Digital Classicist wiki.
Our wiki has a long list of members of our community both in an
editorial and advisory capacity but very few however have contact or
any other details there. These are particularly useful for anyone
editing the DC wiki pages as it allows other people to see your
credentials and hence the authority for what you write.
Creating your wiki page here is simple. Login with your username and
password and click on *edit* at the top of the page.
Scroll down to where you see your name and replace it with the
following syntax:
[[User:FirstnameSecondname | Firstname Secondname]]
Your wiki page is now created.
*Save page* at the bottom and click *article* at the top to take you
back to the members page.
Your name is now a live link to your page.
clicking on your name will now take you to your page.
click *edit* at the top and then add some content
use *show preview* until you have it as you want it then *Save page*
There that's done!
If you have a work or personal webpage you could link to that or
alternatively author some brief content about interests, contact, biog
etc.
The wiki syntax is fairly straight forward but the easiest thing is to
look and see what other members have done and copy that.
If you need help with the syntax, click on the MediaWiki logo in the
bottom left hand corner. On the opening MediaWiki page look for where
it says Users and then the link *How to edit a page*. Everything you
need is there.
best regards
Simon
