DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER To Lead June 30 Ride For Recovery

The University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center issued the
following news release:
WHAT: "Dog the Bounty Hunter," star of A & E's popular reality show, will
attend this year's Ride for Recovery. The annual motorcycle ride will again
donate all proceeds to Peer I and The Haven, two of the University of Colorado
at Denver and Health Sciences Center's drug treatment programs. The benefit
ride was created six years ago to help show drug addicts a new way of life
through other forms of recreation, such as camping and skiing. All motorized
vehicles are welcome to participate. Sponsorship opportunities for the ride
are available. For information on sponsorship, contact Pamela Everett at

WHEN: Saturday, June 30
Registration begins at 8:00a.m. Ride leaves at 11:00a.m.
WHERE: Ft. Logan Mental Health Center Park
3700 West Princeton Cr., Denver
WHO: Peer I is a residential therapeutic community program for substance abuse
and dependence for adult males. It offers various forms of therapy, drug
education and other services, as part of its comprehensive therapeutic
community.
The Haven is a residential therapeutic community for women and their infants
with severe drug or alcohol problems. The program also provides prenatal care
in addition to care for newborns to 18 month olds of residents. Both programs
are run by the UCDHSC School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and
Addiction Research & Treatment Services, Division of Substance Dependence.
Duane "Dog" Chapman is the star of A&E's reality series "Dog the Bounty
Hunter" and proclaims to be the world's most famous bounty hunter. Dog, a
Denver native, says "I am what rehabilitation stands for."
Paul Thompson is a counselor at Peer I who grew up in Denver with Dog. He was
recently featured in an interview on the A & E series.
