We are extremely pleased to invite you to this event, taking place at the
Houses of Parliament, on Monday 18th June 2007.
The prospect of longer and healthier lives is one of the greatest signs of
our economic and social development. But it presents real challenges for
our economy and welfare system in supporting an ever increasing dependent
population.
John Hutton, Secretary of State at the Department for Work and Pensions
will be examining the opportunities presented by more flexibility over
retirement, which, he will argue, also offer the prospect of greater
freedom for more people to take personal responsibility for managing their
finances and enjoying an active and fulfilling retirement. He will be
joined by Professor Nick Barr, of the London School of Economics, and Tim
Bull, Director of Saga.
