Will speak on 'Agency and the Internet'
on June 25th at 4pm in Room 3.3, Roscoe Building, University of Manchester
Professor Feenberg is the leading exponent of critical theory within the
field of technology studies. His many books include 'Transforming
Technology' (2002), 'Heidegger and Marcuse' (2005) and 'Questioning
Technology' (1999). The talk will develop his idea of 'democratic
rationalisation' in connection with digital networks. It will be of
interest to sociologists, philosophers, political economists and anyone
with an interest in the social forces shaping contemporary technology.
