Dear all,
As mentioned at yesterday's meeting, on Friday Anais Rassat of UCL
will give a cosmology seminar at Imperial College:
"Exploring the Local Universe: New Results from the 2MASS Redshift
Survey"
Room 503, Huxley Building
12 noon
"The 2 Micron All Sky Survey is the densest all-sky spectroscopic
galaxy survey to date, complete to K<11.5 with nearly all-sky
coverage and over 30,000 galaxies. The infra-red selection means it
probes the older stellar populations and so is a robust tracer of
mass. I present new results on the matter density and galaxy bias
using the angular and redshift information from this 3D map of the
Local Universe."
Hope to see you there,
Joe Zuntz
