I am sure your institution must by now got a circular with the CILIP Quals
tender (which by the way, iis neither legally binding nor does it compel
CILIP to change anything whatsoever if the quals are deemed to be below
standard).
We are told in CILIP news (May) that one charteree was able to use her CAT
points towards her MA (thus saving time and money).
The OU was adamant to me that it's not as simple as that: the OU decides
which MAs such credit can be put towards (in the proper university world: 30
CATs = an MA module which costs 500 pounds roughly).
The CILIP press release "forgets" to mention that they are not transferable.
In other words, you are stuck with an OU degree.
I am curious to know whether the "consultants" will be recruited from the
usual aye sayers.
And at what cost ? Quals has been told repeatedly that the Framework is
byzantine, and too expensive to run. Worse, the chartership is worthless.
When is this country going to go back to real, rigurous qualifications ?
