Hi Dave and all
That's good news that there will be another event this year. I probably speak on behalf of a few of us who work in universities that teach - end September probably couldn't be a worse time for us (except for mid-June possibly!). I'll try and come anyway, but if there's flexibility in this, a week or two earlier would be much better.
Seeing you in the autumn
Mark

Dear all
Good news! It looks pretty certain that John Meudell has managed to get a commitment, with some funding, from CTC to hold the 4th Cycling and Society Symposium and workshop at Guildford.
In CSRG tradition, this would be a 2 day affair, with the first day for presentation of papers, and the second a meeting to discuss - in close collaboration with CTC - some future (mutually beneficial) research directions for cycling. The involvement and support of CTC would provide a good opportunity for the inclusion of policy-makers, practitioners and campaigners, as well as academic researchers and students.
We think the end of September is a good time. We're hoping that CTC will do some of the event administration, but to be successful the event will obviously require the involvement of some of us from the Cycling and Society Research Group.
How does this sound? Any thoughts? I know there was some mention of Bristol as an alternative. Would it be OK to save Bristol for the next time (and we should probably talk again about that international cycling conference we talked about organising at our last meeting in Chester last April)?
Best wishes
Dave
