If anyone knows of any problems with running Ox under Windows Vista,
I hope they will pass them on Ox-Users.
I have learned of a problem, not with Vista as such, but with Office 2007.
Evidently the ".XLS" files produced by the new Excel cannot be read by Ox.
I have one of these files and confirm that Ox cannot open it, although
(ancient) Eviews 3 had no problem with it. It therefore does look like an
Ox-specific issue.
If you still have Excel 2003 or earlier, the solution is to open the
problem
file with this and recreate it. However, if you use the Excel format in
conjunction with Ox, it might be best to postpone upgrading your Office for
the moment. Hopefully, Jurgen can fix this one in due course.
Best
James
