Dear all,
Would you be able to contribute query log files from your website for
analysis as part of this University of Sheffield & European research
project? See below.
If you have log files that could be analysed, or you'd like to know more
about the project, please email [log in to unmask]
With best wishes,
Kate

Subject: Re: Query logs in cultural heritage
I am part of a team at the University of Sheffield working on an EU
research project called MultiMatch, which is building a multilingual,
multimedia search engine for the cultural heritage domain. We are
working on enabling users to search for material in various languages by
automatically translating their queries. To do this it is important to
get a feel for the types of queries that are commonly entered by users
on cultural heritage websites.
Log files provide an invaluable source of data relating. We have
analysed the query log files from various CH websites and have noticed
some differences and some similarities. Further data would enable us to
obtain a wider range of examples and give a broader picture of the
nature of CH queries.
I would like to ask if your organisation would be able to provide us
with a set of query log files (or a list of the most popular keywords or
queries) so that we could add to our current analysis. If you have any
further questions, please contact me at [log in to unmask]
Thank you in advance for your help!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Marlow
MultiMatch project Research Assistant, University of Sheffield
