Hi Elise,
I can only give you tips if you are a Mac user, since I'm a Mac user
and have a couple ways of getting around what you are asking about.
What I usually do for a screen capture is press Apple-Shift-4. This
will change your mouse into a little crosshair icon. You can then
click and drag across the screen to make your selection. When you
let go of the mouse button, you'll hear a snap sound (like from a
camera) and then your screen shot will be saved to the Desktop as
a .png file.
The other thing I use is a program called Snapz Pro X. Its not free
(costs about $20 or so I think), but you get some cool features with
it, like for instance capturing movies of what happens on your
screen. I usually find that good for using fslview's Movie Mode, to
go through a 4D image and capture it as a movie.
Best,
Mike
