True, but there are ways and ways of doing it - sending an email to a list at 4pm on the new closing day is not one of them, I don't think. That's my personal opinion anyway.

As far as I am aware of the legal background to this, it remains fully
within the rights of any UK company to withdraw any advertised employment
position before the originally advertised expiry date. Therefore, any
complaints involving the words "an appalling way to behave" should be
accepted as moral disagreements rather than legal ones.
