This was a mail from Nick last September formalising the process:
Ø Updated RPMs which pass certification are gathered and put into the PPS APT repository at CERN *each Thursday, before 12:00*
Ø The CERN_PPS site administrators will deploy the updates and give feedback *by end-of-day the following Friday*
Ø Those RPMs which show no deployment problems in the CERN_PPS site will be copied across to the CNAF PPS APT repository *each Monday morning*
Ø Once the CNAF PPS APT repository is ready, the rest of the PPS sites will be asked to apply the updates *by end-of-day Tuesday*
Ø The updates will be evaluated during the following week, after which all satisfactory updates will be moved to the production service APT repository.
So basically one week - and sites get only a day to upgrade.
