Hi Rachael
I agree with all the comments made - given the detail you disclosed
the manager appears aggrieved about something so the undercurrents
may be an influence to his actions - regardless of this he is getting
him and the company into a sticky wicket.
- why dont you case conference with HR - the manager should be
referring via them if they have a HR dept - they
should be well aware of the consequences of the actions represented
and should have been strong enough to guide him on this - their
problem really. Guide him to any sources of info available so that
the business realise you are not stating something without backing it
up - CIPD are very good so it may be a place to start - but as
mentioned at the end of the day HR should be directing on this not OH.
