Hello one and all,
having seen a couple of programmes in the last few weeks where lorry
drivers have been held up/ beaten up and generally very traumatised by the
level of violence used by gangs who nick the whole lorry i thought i
better look into this---we have several hundred lorry drivers and we have
24 hour deliveries as apparently the roads are quieter at night?!
i have recently learned that when delivering to certain city centre sites
on a friday and saturday nights (following risk assessment!) that some
deliveries are made by 2 drivers as staff have been assaulted and stock
nicked by the "party going public". we also have a procedure for
preventing vehicle hijack and trailer theft so getting to the begging
bit.... does anyone have a "trauma policy" that i can plagerise. i know
alison dunn from TFL talked about this in february but i cant find her
contact details.
cap in hand ...as ever...especially to the haulage OHN's
