Herewith a few views of the abbey church, starting from the front with its
massive late tenth-/early eleventh-century belltower and working back to the
twelfth-century chancel and ambulatory:

also (barely) visible in that shot, on the sidewalk directly below the feu
rouge, is one of my favorite monuments of Modren Paris: the memorial to the
Uprising of Mai, '68.
it consists of some large paving stones of the sidewalk heaved up by some sort
of Force from Below.
a very curious thing to come across, while just Promenading down the
Boulevard.
