Hi,
For those of you that may have missed it, Microsoft recently alleged in
Fortune magazine
(http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/05/28/100033867/)
last week that various open source software is infringing on 235 of its
patents - unhelpfully without explicitly saying entirely which software or
which patents.
A good overview of the FOSS community response is at
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,131825-page,1-c,opensource/article.html
Thoughts anyone?
Regards,
James
N.B., Canonical (developers of Ubuntu) are also members of the Open
Invention Network and therefore also shielded by IBM's "Nazgul" team of
lawyers.
