Faculty Information Support Officers (FISO) - 2 posts (Ref. 18090)

Information Systems has established a team of staff, based in certain
faculties within UCL, who are responsible for supporting academic and
administrative faculty staff in developing their IT skills. To date five
of UCL's eight faculties have FISO posts (www.ucl.ac.uk/is/fiso). FISOs
work within their faculty, and also with colleagues in Information
Systems (IS). FISOs work as part of a team, line managed by the FISO
team leader.

Each post is associated with a particular faculty and responsibilities
include delivering IT training, promoting and supporting the
exploitation of IT for learning and teaching and contributing to
departmental and faculty web sites.

We currently have vacancies in the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical
Sciences (MAPS) and the Faculty of Social and Historical Sciences (SHS).

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to support,
facilitate and promote the use of IT in academic work. Candidates should
have a degree, or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an HE
environment. Good interpersonal communication, a commitment to teamwork
and collaboration, and the ability to work independently and as part of
a flexible team are essential, as are strong skills in Microsoft Office
and experience of web development. Experience of learning technologies
such as virtual learning environments would be an advantage.

Salary will be in the range 28,386 to 34,337 (inclusive of London
Allowance). The appointments are permanent.

The closing date for applications is 5pm, Thursday 7th June, 2007.
Interviews are likely to be held on either the 27th/28th June 2007.

To apply, please download an application form and job description from
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/is/vacancies. If you cannot obtain these from the
web, you can email [log in to unmask] quoting reference 18090 or write to
Information Systems, University College London, Gower Street, London
WC1E 6BT. Candidates will be considered for both posts unless stipulated
in the application form. DO NOT send a CV. If you have any queries,
please phone 020-7679-7357. No agencies.

We particularly welcome black and ethnic minority applicants for the
posts, as they are currently under represented within University College
London (Section 38 of the Race Relations Act 1976 applies.)
