Background
In April 2005 the Chartered Institute of Library and Information
Professionals introduced its Framework of Qualifications. The new
Framework has four levels: Certification; Chartership; Revalidation; and
Fellowship
Application for all qualifications is by preparation and submission of a
portfolio.
The Certification scheme is a recognition of the contribution made in
library and information work by para-professional staff. Affiliated
Members of CILIP Cymru/Wales may apply for Certification. The scheme is
open to all CILIP Cymru/Wales members working as library and information
assistants and in para-professional roles.
Workshop Aims
This event is aimed at any library and information staff working towards
CILIP’s Certification qualification, or who are interested in finding
out more about the qualification. The workshop will cover the background
to the qualification and how to apply, plus the benefits it can bring to
you. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
