Dear Keith,
At Glasgow we are dealing with this situation by allowing students to
embargo access to their thesis under the Freedom of Information
(Scotland) Act 2002 exemption relating to Health, safety and the
environment ('information that would, or would be likely to, endanger
the physical or mental health or the safety of an individual').
Best wishes,
Morag

Subject: Question for colleagues archiving theses
Dear All,
We are about to start archiving PhD theses in our institutional
repository.
I know of students here who are concerned that doing this will make
details of their animal work too available. Have others encountered
this?
If so, have you made any special arrangements for such theses?
Deposit here is voluntary - I'd be interested to know what you are doing
or plan to do about this issue if deposit in your institution is
mandatory.
Many thanks,
Best wishes,
Keith
