5th International Conference on
Standardisation and Innovation in Information Technology
SIIT 2007

Topics

Theoretical and empirical papers as well as case studies are welcome
that shed some light on IT standards, standardisation, and innovation.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

* standardisation & innovation 
* the impact of standards
* standards policies
* standards and regulation
* intellectual property rights and antitrust law
* impact of standards on trade
* economics of standards
* standards education
* research and standardisation 
* standards cultures
* competing regional and international regimes
* standards setting organisations & their processes
* alternative compatibility strategies
* corporate standards strategies
* problems of implementation and diffusion
* conformance assessment, testing and certification
* case studies of standardisation
* standards for developing countries
* history of standardisation

Suggestions for additional topics are most welcome. 


Important Dates

Submissions due:	14 May 2007
Notification of authors:	2 July 2007
Final Paper due:	1 September 2007

All information about the conference will be announced at www.SIIT2007.org.

Original (unpublished) papers not exceeding 6,000 words are solicited.
They will undergo a double blind peer-review process.  Accepted papers
will be included in the conference proceedings, planned to be published
by the IEEE.

Submissions should be sent in .pdf or .rtf format to: [log in to unmask]

Outstanding papers will be considered for inclusion in the International
Journal on IT Standards and Standardization Research  (JITSR).

Some Information on SIIT

SIIT conferences are held every two years. They aim at bringing together
standards and standardisation experts from different fields - academics,
policy makers, standards developers, organisations' standards leaders,
and users (administrations, companies, end users) - those who are
interested in a multi-disiplinary exchange of insights and views on
standards and standardisation.
