Recent developments in Leicester contained five nonconformist chapels,
of which three had associated burials: Vine Street General Baptists,
East Bond Street Congregational Chapel and the Ebenezer chapel. In all
of these cases, the sites had been redeveloped in the 1960s and the
assumption had been made that any burials were exhumed then. However,
this proved not to be the case and on one of the sites, there were
several hundred remaining burials. The first edition Ordnance survey
map sometimes records the existence of a graveyard, but not always, and
it is also worth noting that there are often burials inside the
building. We have also encountered burials associated with Methodist
chapels.
Hope this helps.

Subject: Burials at non-conformist chapels
Dear All
I am trying to find out which particular types of non-conformist chapels
may have associated burials, marked or unmarked. This question arises
frequently with chapel conversions and redevelopments. I wonder if
anyone could point me to any publications or web-based information that
could help with this.
Many thanks
