I'm still trying to get cygwin (and FSL!) to bend to my will...
I've now got a cygwin+FSL disk image that has the most basic
installation of cygwin (ie not even latex and emacs installed), and FSL
compiled on that basic system. The total size of the image is 234M,
which I think is pretty decent.
In XP, you can unzip the file (in c:\) and then start using it via
C:\cygwin\cygwin.bat or C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\startxwin.bat (the X
server was necessary to get things to work -although it could be
uninstalled I guess).
The biggest part of trimming the FSL part down was removing all the
.EXEs from the src directories (they're in bin anyway), removing all the
Tcl-related stuff (doesn't work properly) and removing src/freeware
after compilation.
So, it's command line, but some are not daunted by that...
If there's interest for this image, it may be possible to get it to an
accessible location.
