To my previous post, it was suggested that my Matlab version was okay for SPM5, but that I should make sure I didnt have an install/update problem, esp the CRLF problem which often bites people when unpacking the .tar.gz files...I have redone this a few times now and still get the same behavior and error message in Model Specification, including with the demo Auditory fMRI data provided by the SPM folks...
The specific error message that I get after doing the Model Specification input and pressing RUN is below...Bottom line is that I would like to know if this is a Matlab version or SPM5 installation issue...I think it must be one or the other...Thanks in advance for any help!

I am trying to use SPM5 under Win XP and Matlab 6.5...
When I type 'version' under matlab i get: 6.5.0.180913a (R13)
I guess I am right on the border with this in terms of SPM2/SPM5 compatibility...
SPM5 seems to work up to the point of Model Specification, i.e. all the
realignment, correg, normalization stuff seems to work, but I am getting
errors with a very simple 2 condition block design specification...
Q: Should this work, or do I need to back up to SPM2 with this particular version of Matlab?
Thanks,
