I use something simple along the lines of:
V=spm_vol(spm_get(1,'*.img'));
V.mat=new_matrix_parameters;
V1=spm_create_vol(V);
I'm assuming you don't have problems generating the 'new matrix
parameters' from reorientation. If you do, I'll see what I can do.
