Sorry everyone - I made a mistake and Nick's email was there all along.

Subject: [PSCI-COM] The Best of The Jodcast 2006 -- FREE CD
Hi all,
Are you interested in a free CD-ROM of The Best of The Jodcast 2006?
The Jodcast is the UK's only regular astronomy podcast. It is produced by
astronomers at The University of Manchester's
Jodrell Bank Observatory. We have been producing our monthly podcast since
January 2006.
Most of our listeners subscribe to the regular podcast feed of The Jodcast
at www.jodcast.net. We realised however that many
physics teachers don't have much time to search for interesting science
content to spice up their classes so we asked for
(and won) funding from the Institute of Physics to produce a CD-ROM of
selected Jodcast productions.
If you would like a free copy of this CD-ROM (free postage and packaging to
the UK), please email me your mailing address. We think it would be
particularly useful for A-level physics teachers, but we
would be more than happy to send a copy to those involved in the teaching of
physics/astronomy at other levels too.
Most of the content of The Best of The Jodcast 2006 CD-ROM are the
interviews that some of the top astronomers in the world
gave to us.
Example interviews on the CD-ROM are:
The Double Pulsar Prof. Michael Kramer
The GAIA spacecraft Prof. Gerry Gilmore
The SOHO spacecraft Dr Helen Mason
Gamma Ray Bursts Dr Paul O'Brien
Wide-Angle Search for Planets Dr Don Pollacco
Vatican Astronomer Brother Guy Consolmagno
SETI Ian Morison
Is Pluto A Planet? IAU General Assembly Vote
WMAP & Cosmology Dr Joanna Dunkley
Gravitational Waves Dr Oliver Jennrich
In addition, the content of this CD-ROM is cross-indexed with keywords from
three of the current AS/A-level physics
syllabuses:
* The Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA) Physics A
* Edexcel AS/A GCE in Physics UA006823
* Edexcel AS/A GCE in Physics (Salters Horners) UA006822
This cross-indexing was done in the hope that it makes the CD-ROM more
user-friendly for teachers of A-level
physics/astronomy to find examples of interesting applications of physics in
astronomy for their classes.
If we send you The Best of The Jodcast 2006, all we ask is that you send us
some feedback regarding the usefulness of the
CD-ROM. If you think it is a good idea, whether it helped you with your
teaching of physics/astronomy, how can it be
improved etc. Contact details are on the CD-ROM.
The Jodcast is released under a Creative Commons License, so all content on
the CD-ROM can be copied, mixed, used etc for personal or educational
purposes so long as you credit The Jodcast.
The production run is limited (only 300), so first in, first served.
Yours,
Nick
