Patient Safety and Service Quality Research Centre
Ref: KCH0158
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of patient safety and service quality in the UK, by playing a key role in the establishment of one of two new national Research Centres for Excellence, funded through the Government's "best research for best health" NHS R&D strategy.
The King's Patient Safety and Service Quality Research Centre is founded on a strong partnership between clinicians and managers at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and senior academics from a range of disciplines at King's College London. You will have a pivotal role in co-ordinating all aspects of the Centre, including establishing new administrative systems and processes, co-ordinating recruitment, managing research budgets, implementing a communications strategy (e.g. via website and open stakeholders' forum). This will involve working with a wide range of professionals from across the two partner organisations, as well as the healthcare community of SE London.
This complex, but rewarding job will require a manager who is highly organised and adaptable, with experience of healthcare and / or an academic environment and motivation to learn rapidly on the job. The Centre is funded for 5 years (from April 2007) in the first instance. Secondments of 12 months or more will also be considered.
Interview date: 23rd May 2007.
