medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and
culture
Dear colleagues,
Here is the main English-language page of the Biblioteca Apostolica
Vaticana:
http://bav.vatican.va/en/v_home_bav/home_bav.shtml
Check it from time to time for news and information about the closure.

medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and
culture Dear medieval-religion colleagues,
I just got a message forwarded to me by a colleague in Lyon (Marjorie
Burghart) that I found so strange that I just telephoned the Vatican
Library about it, and the news is confirmed:
Due to major structural work and re-organization of the library's
holdings, the Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana -- once it closes for
the summer in July -- will remain closed from that time until early
January 2010.
This news is not yet available on the library's web site, but I was
told it should appear there some time next week.
Please don't ask me for any further details or explanations -- this
is all I know! If, however, I do hear of anything relevant, I'll
share it with you. If *you* hear of something, then please share with
the rest of us.
A bit like British television character Victor Meldrew, I find myself
saying: 'I don't believe it!' -- but it's true.
