Dear All
I have actually found the CLA more helpful than NLH on this - about
answering questions anyway. If we were depending on the NLH to let us
know what we could do under the new license we would still be waiting.
I have had two personal replies to queries from the CLA and all free of
charge and most speedy.
Best wishes

Is it cos I is cynical?
Will these training events be free? Hmm, no? Thought not..
It would be more to the point if those DoH souls who negotiated the
licence would put up, on the NLH pages - somewhere - a copy of this.
[Unless they're the same souls who negotiated the BMA contract]
Increased transparency? I don't see much evidence of it.
I would hope that the CLA would know perfectly well what we can/can't
do. Why aren't some FAQs already up on their website?
We have had to bear the brunt of users' irritation with the non-licensed
period; we have had to advise senior executives to be brave - those
whose Boards had enough money to fork out did - we have a licence which
effectively is only valid until next March - I would have thought a
simple list of dos & don'ts would already have been up on libry.nhl.
<deeeep sigh.

Hi Everyone
The CLA is preparing a series of training events for England on what can
and can't be done under the new licence. In order to tailor these
events more closely to our specific concerns, Jim MacNeilage, Licensing
Manager for the CLA, has asked that we email him in advance with any
questions and/or points on which we would like clarification. His email
address is [log in to unmask]
I hope a lot of us will respond to this request as I think we shall all
benefit from this approach. Training events gather momentum and the
later ones inevitably benefit from the questions asked and the points
raised in the initial sessions - this way, we stand more chance of
coming away with the package of information we really need. I
understand that an FAQ list will be composed later, from the sessions,
for the CLA's website.
Best wishes
