Hello all,
Backdating the agreement to 1 April 2006 is very nice for the CLA but
somewhat less helpful for the NHS community of users.
Essentially the last year of trying to get people to respect copyright
and the restrictions we had to impose on our services have already
happened. Why would we want to pay retrospectively for a licence we
have not enjoyed?
It also means the new licence runs out in 12 months. Hopefully we will
hear what is included before May or we are essentially paying for 10
months.
That said I am glad that a new central licence has been agreed.
Best
Alan

"A Central Licence has been agreed with the CLA for photocopying and
scanning by the NHS. The term of this licence is from 1 April 2006 until
31 March 2008. Those NHS bodies who have paid for licences with the CLA
for that period, will receive a refund from the CLA of the amount paid
during the next couple of weeks."
An update will follow at the end of May.
