Connecting Communities
Content, knowledge,information: Same Difference?
15 May 2007
18:00-20:30
University College London, Henry Morely Building
http://www.iskouk.ort/connecting1.htm
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Work with taxonomies and metadata in a corporate environment? A media
company maybe; or financial services? Perhaps you talk about /Digital
Asset Management/ - even DAM - instead? Or, you could be a busy content
manager with a complex web site to get organized; perhaps a records
manager in local government, building a file plan for a new EDRM system?
Then again, perhaps you work in the HE sector, teaching students the
principles of cataloguing, indexing and information retrieval,
researching the interesting by-ways of information management but
wondering what's happening on the highway?
All of these communities exist. All of them are involved in knowledge
organization in one form or another. Yet rarely, if ever, do they share
their experiences.
Well, now's your chance! ISKO UK's /Connecting Communities/ events are
simply opportunities to hold /conversations/. Conversations 1:1 ... 1:*
*:1. Conversations among professionals with similar interests and
experiences to share. A tribal get-together, to pow-wow and smoke the
pipe of peace (metaphorically, of course).
