Dear David
The advert has now been removed from the TES but if you sent an application to [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> with reference to Economics/Geography job, this would be enough. The only problem I can see at the moment is the lack of Geography.
If there are any specific questions, please let me know.
Best wishes
Simon Foley

Simon
Please send me any further details....I am currently teaching Economics and Law at AS/A Level standard. I have not taught Geography so if this essential I may not be a suitable applicant. On the other hand there may be other ways round this.

Subject: Interested in teaching in Lausanne also?
Following on from what Peter writes, we are also having problems recruiting a teacher of Economics (with Geography) for this academic year. We are now on our third advert.
Strangely, the International School of Lausanne pays well for Europe (circa 85 000 CHF with 25 percent tax), teachers get paid 70 CHF extra for extra-curricular activities and 250 CHF - 350 CHF for weekend activities if they choose to undertake them. The teaching load is light (25 periods out of 40) and the students extremely well-behaved and motivated.
One has the opportunity to teach the interesting IB Economics course and work in an excellent, well-run school on the edge of Lake Leman in the Alps. Skiing, walking, climbing are all on our doorstep and yet we are having significant problems in attracting a suitable candidate.
I would imagine that the type of person who wants to go to KL and Lausanne are very different so I not stepping on Peter's toes too much.
Please contact me for any further information.

Subject: Interested in teaching in Kuala Lumpur?
After 5 years of teaching in a British International school in Kuala Lumpur, I am returning to the UK at the end of this academic year. My job (Head of Business and Economics) will be advertised in the TES this week - it has been advertised before but there have been some problems with recruiting. The school is a great place to work with (largely) very motivated students. KL is an amazing place to live - the holiday opportunities are fantastic and the city is extremely easy to live in as everyone speaks English. I have had a great time here and will be very sorry to leave but family ties are calling me back to the UK. I think this is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in teaching abroad.
If anyone is thinking of applying and wants more of an inside view on the school, I would be happy to give honest answers to any questions. I have no incentive for encouraging people to apply other than my own enthusiasm for the school and the country.
