The National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) is based at the
University of Manchester and is the central resource for e-social
science issues and activities in the UK. You will join the JISC-funded
e-Infrastructure Use Cases and Service Models project and help develop a
comprehensive set of structured use cases which encapsulate how members
of the UK research community are, or intend, to use e Infrastructure
services in their research.
You should have a honours a degree in Computer Science, Social Sciences
or a related discipline, and have excellent communication and
presentational skills. A background in developing use cases, in the use
of interviewing, focus groups and observation-based research methods for
requirements capture is essential. An understanding of e-Infrastructure
concepts, including databases, the Grid, Web Services, Semantic Web,
collaborative tools, etc. is desirable.
Tenable immediately until 31 March 2009.
