The National Centre for e-Social Science (NCeSS) is based at the
University and is the central resource for e-social science issues and
activities in the UK. You will join the JISC-funded Barriers to the
Take-up of e-Infrastructure Services project team and help determine
responses to barriers to the take-up of e-Infrastructure, with a
particular emphasis on training materials, delivery mechanisms and
programmes.
You should have a good honours degree in Computer science or a relevant
subject area and have excellent communication and presentational skills.
A background in fieldwork design and execution is essential, as is the
ability to translate fieldwork findings into a variety of forms of
output relevant to addressing barriers to innovation. Familiarity with
the concepts e-learning and of e-Science and grid computing concepts is
desirable.
Tenable immediately until 31 March 2009.
