Hi,
I fixed the xinitrc file and all works OK thanks. Still not any faster than with quartz though. I am going to try compiling ccpnmr straight from the website.
Jo,
I am assuming that you have some sort of xinitrc script that runs
when you start X11. I just modify the system xinitrc file that lives
in /etc/X11/xinit/. Could you send along what is in this file and
maybe we can figure out what is going wrong. There is hope, I had
windowmaker up and running on my mac and it went pretty smoothly.
However, I didn't find that it made that much of a difference in the
fink analysis binary and the slow performance issues that you have
noted. Like Dan suggested, I compiled the analysis package that was
downloaded from the ccpnmr site.
Also, when X11 crashes do you get any warnings, popups or does it
just completely die?
