Position of Statistician

Going from strength to strength, expansion creates this additional role for 
a Statistician/Senior Statistician to join our Statistics and Product 
Support Service Group. Primarily you’ll be providing internal and external 
consultancy advice on randomisation and medication management schemes for 
use in clinical trials managed by telephone Interactive Voice Response 
systems or their web equivalent. It’s busy and diverse, and you can expect 
to be involved with around 75 studies every year, with many requiring 
creative thinking and innovative solutions. Some studies will necessitate 
simulation work to investigate optimal randomisation and medication 
management schemes. Other projects will include support for adaptive trial 
design implementation and design and analysis of quality of life validation 
studies. There will also be the opportunity to work on individual research 
projects related to the core business - publication and conference 
presentation is encouraged.

Industry or clinical trial experience is a distinct advantage but applicants 
with other relevant experience should also apply. Applications are 
encouraged from applicants with expertise in one of the following areas:-
• randomisation
• adaptive trial designs
• quality of life

You will also have a sound knowledge of statistical theory and good SAS 
programming skills. You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational 
skills as there will be frequent client contact on many projects working 
within tight timeframes.
