The Department maintains strong research and teaching links across the
whole University, especially with the Colleges of Commerce, Engineering
and Science, and internationally. The appointee will be expected to
contribute to these links and to teach in the Statistics programme at
both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Preference will be given to candidates whose research profile enhances

As a Lecturer you will need a Ph.D., demonstrated ability and a
commitment to research, and also have a commitment to teaching.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will be well established as a researcher and
teacher. You will need a Ph.D. and record of publishing in
internationally respected journals. You will also need to demonstrate a
track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and
an ability to attract and supervise postgraduate students, is also expected.
