Hello All,

My colleague and I are Teaching Fellows with the Centre for Open
Learning in Math's, Science, Computing and Technology CETL at the Open
University. We have a research island in Second Life (Cetlment) that we
are actively using and developing for teaching and learning, plus
investigating the exciting possibilities afforded by integrating with
Moodle (re the Sloodle project below) - would be happy to show anyone
around in-world on an informal basis. Anyone interested in SL might
also like to look at schome.ac.uk, another OU project that has a SL
island and is doing a lot of work on educating in virtual worlds.
Our SL names are Elsa Dickins (me) and Jacquie Sholokov (Jacquie
Bennett) - feel free to IM one of us in-world or email me off-list.

Regards,

Anna Peachey
Open University

There is also some fascinating work being done here:

	Integrating SL with a VLE:-).

"Sloodle v1.0 is releasing at the Massively Multi-Learner
Workshop <http://www.ics.heacademy.ac.uk/events/displayevent.php?id=142>
on March 22nd in Paisley, Scotland."

There has been some discussion about Second Life on the
Champs list.

Barry Spencer, Bromley College, is doing some remarkable
work with Second Life to support teaching and learning. He's bought
himself an Island and invited people to join him. If you're interested,
he's facilitating a Strand of our LEON conference starting Monday.
Please give me a call (0787 962 0421) if you'd like to be included, or
send me a booking form which you can get from our website:

		http://www.rsc-london.ac.uk/1077/

If you don't have access to the Champs list, or haven't
seen Second Life, take a look at this video posted on YouTube:

		Best wishes

		Philip
